2CB is called a high society drug due to its high cost. It is also known by other names, such as ‘Venus’, ‘Erox’, ‘Nexus’, ‘MFT’, ‘Tucibi’, ‘Pink Cocaine’ and several others. In fact, its original name is 2C-B, as it is registered in the drug classifications.
It is mentioned as a new drug, but in fact, its origins date back to 1974, when the formula was created by Alexander Shulgin in a California lab. It is not certain that it was invented in Germany, as many claim.
- 2CB is a synthetic drug.
- This means that it can be prepared or synthesized in a laboratory.
- Using chemicals.
- That is.
- Artificial.
- Which differentiates them from other natural herbal drugs.
- Such as marijuana or cocaine.
2CB became popular in the 1980s, when several synthetic drugs also began to become fashionable. In 1985, the Ecstasy, has been declared an illegal drug, that was the impulse of 2CB. Finally, in 1994, the United States also banned the 2CB. Gradually, it became illegal in the rest of the world. At the time, the substance was better known as “Nexus”.
As of 2004, this illegal drug started a new boom, this time in Latin America, it was widely consumed in Mexico and from there it was imported to Colombia years later. 2CB entered the coffee country by Medellin. A man of the popular classes, began to do it himself, with a homemade formula. This guy was known to everyone as ‘Alex Tusib’.
The drug traffickers of Medellin managed to deport “Alejo” from this town. From there he ended up in Cali, where he was also vetoed by traditional gangsters, eventually managed to set up his business in Bogota, where he was kidnapped and forced to reveal his formula.
The deal fell into the hands of a large gangster known as Urdinola, who was later extradited, Colombia is currently the main producer of 2CB. It exports mainly to Europe and Germany has the highest number of consumers.
2C-B (2. 5-dimetoxy-4-bromophenylethylamine) belongs to the amphetamine family, are a powerful central nervous system stimulant, mainly marketed on the black market in the form of tablets and capsules. It can also be found in the form of inhaled powder. The drug has different appearances, although it usually circulates like pink pills. Hence the popular name “pink cocaine”.
Usually, this illegal drug is taken orally, everything seems to indicate that when it reaches the brain it joins the adrenaline, norepinephrine and dopamine receptors. 2CB is also a psychedelic drug. This means that it alters cognitive and perceptual processes, leading to illusions and/or hallucinations.
The effects of 2C-B take longer to appear than in other drugs such as ecstasy; after ingestion, it can take one to two hours to enter the brain; its effect lasts between 4 and 8 hours. It all depends on the structure, physiology and conditions of each person, a low dose is considered 10 milligrams. The moderate dose ranges from 10 to 24 milligrams, while the high dose is between 25 and 40 milligrams. From there, we talked about overdose.
2CB has physical, psychological and secondary effects. At lower doses a sensory amplification effect is generated, i. e. it exalts and improves everything captured by the senses, at higher doses other effects appear such as the following:
As for the physical effects of 2CB, the most common are: increased blood pressure, dilated pupils, blurred vision, dizziness and insomnia; there is not enough research on the long-term effects; however, prolonged use is known to cause severe episodes of anxiety. , depression and sleep disorders. It’s unclear how addictive the substance can be.
Due to the lack of documentation, any abrupt changes in the body after taking the medicine should be considered a medical emergency, some consumers reported that when using high doses, they suffered headaches, cardiac arrhythmias, tremors and even seizures.
The effect of each dose depends on the characteristics of the person consuming it, for some 15 milligrams can only cause appreciable reactions, for others this dose will be high and you will experience hallucinations, in the range of 14 to 24 milligrams, a difference of only 2 milligrams can represent a significant increase in effect.
In Colombia, the 2CB is called “queen and model of drugs”. This curious name was given because the combination of 2C-B and Ecstasy turned out to be a powerful aphrodisiac. This is particularly noticeable in women. In fact, prior to their ban, psychiatrists used 2CB in couples therapies. It has already been said that if someone invented a fully effective aphrodisiac, 2C-B would be the main component.
Although it has been said to be an elite drug, due to its high cost, it may not be so true. Although its price is high on the black market, it does not differ much from the price of cocaine. The latter substance produces less lasting effects, requiring a higher number of doses. From this point of view, the two narcotics have a similar price.
