The world of work has become very unstable. There are so many standing up that a mediocre job is often considered a marvel for those who have been inactive for a long time. It’s not uncommon to find someone who has it, but he never decides to change jobs.
However, in this situation you have to be very careful, sometimes maintaining a job that we hate can have serious consequences, the mind, of course, is affected by such a situation, just like the body. Being trapped in a daily routine we hate is something that makes us sick, in the literal sense of the word.
“We don’t enjoy work if it doesn’t teach us something. -Jose Hernández-
In general, it is fear that prevents us from changing jobs, this fear is so strong that we prefer to waste our lives and our best years doing something we don’t want, now fear is almost always unfounded. It is more a matter of mistrust in our capabilities and a somewhat paranoid reading of reality. It’s true that finding a new job isn’t easy, but it’s not impossible either.
We may face a period of uncertainty when we decide to change jobs, or maybe we should accept a lower salary. However, these problems are much easier to handle than work that can no longer take. To find out if it’s time to change jobs, evaluate the presence of these signs.
It sounds strange to say, but there are many people who work today without receiving a salary in return, sometimes they are fooled by supposed training or long selection periods, they ask you to pay for the training and then work for free while you reach a certain level established by the employers.
At other times, they don’t pay the full salary or suddenly stop paying for financial hardship, and unofficially ask for time to catch up. Many weeks go by and you never pay, don’t wait to change jobs if things are like that.
Many companies choose to constantly hire and fire their employees. Workers are linked to performance goals or simply have some kind of contract that allows them to be fired at any time.
This type of mechanism only promotes discomfort, anxiety is constant. No one wants to lose their job and that’s why almost everyone becomes extremely manipulative and falsely effective. The working environment is often riddled with tension and repressed rage as well as fear. That job isn’t worth it. It’s better to think about changing jobs.
Work always involves effort and, from time to time, tasks that you do not like, however, what should prevail is the taste or interest in what you do, when instead activities no longer attract you, it may be the time to think about changing jobs.
It begins with feelings of apathy or decay, but can increase and become anxiety, fatigue, depression and other bodily diseases. There is no reason to stop at cycles that have already been completed. As radical as it may seem, it’s time to change, your melody.
One of the reasons we feel motivated to work is the feedback we receive, that is, the recognition of our effort, our achievements, or our capabilities.
If you think your work isn’t appreciated, no matter how much you put it on, it might be a good idea to change jobs; if you don’t appreciate what you’re doing, you won’t be able to advance your career. And if you don’t move forward, sooner or later you’ll see a burden on your work, not a way to outdo yourself.
Sometimes you get to the point where you mentally disconnect from everything that has to do with work, this is manifested by the desire to spend as little time as possible working, constant distraction and making projects that are not related to work.
In this case what happens is that you have mentally given up your work, it tells you nothing and has no place in your life, you follow by habit, fear or need, but your mind and your heart are already far away. better accept reality.
As difficult as it may seem, it is always best to change jobs before suffering all the consequences that it can entail to stay there. We spent a good part of our lives working. The least we can expect is to feel that this is contributing to our growth and not to our decline.
