This beautiful oriental story tells the story of Tsukahara Bokuden, a legendary 16th-century sword master in Japan, who practiced martial arts and became very famous for his fighting skills, but above all for his wisdom.
They say Bokuden had three children and wanted to test them. I wanted to know how careful and advanced they were. To check, he put a headrest on the door and left it ajar. Then he called his eldest son, Hikoshiro, urgently.
“No one tests the depth of the river with both feet. “- In saying-
The eldest son was a young man loved by all, had a sweet personality and a reputation as a cautious man, this Oriental story tells that when his father called him, he approached the door ajar and pushed her slightly. was heavier and assumed that something had changed.
Carefully, he began to feel the top end of the door, as a result, he discovered that the headrest was there and carefully removed it. Bokuden was satisfied and simply gave him something casual, then the eldest son left the room, leaving the headrest. as I had found it.
A few days passed and Bokuden wanted to do the same test with his second son, named Hikogoro, Eastern history says that this son was well known for his great agility and dexterity, he was not careful, like his older brother, because he was very confident in his abilities.
The father called Hikogoro and quickly got up and walked to the door, without thinking twice pushed her quickly into the room, the headrest fell, but the boy was so nimble that he grabbed him in the air, then put him back in place. Bokuden was thinking.
It was time to test his youngest son, Hikoroku, was the most impulsive of all, but also the most cheerful and affectionate, Bokuden loved him very much, but he feared that he would not be able to take the test, and he was right. . The father called his youngest son, as he had done with his brothers.
Hikoroku hurriedly left and pushed the door with great energy. The headrest fell and hit its chomnage, the traditional Japanese coca cola. The Eastern story tells that when the boy felt the blow, he pulled out his sword and split the object in half, before falling to the ground, then laughed and seemed proud of his reaction.
According to this beautiful Eastern history, Bokuden was concerned about the reaction of the youngest son, he thought that such an impulsive person would only bring dishonor and ruin, tradition said that he had to repudiate him, for his behavior only showed a lack. conscience and wisdom.
Bokuden, however, called all his children and told them about an event he had experienced years ago. He had a student he considered the most talented of all his apprentices. With a fast mind and body, I used to win in every fight.
It happened that, on one afternoon, this apprentice walked through one of the streets of the village and crossed a very nervous horse, the animal was so agitated that when he felt the presence of the disciple kicked, however the student was so skilful that he made a feline movement and dodged the shot. Those passing by the street applauded him.
That same afternoon, the qualified student went to Bokuden and told him what had happened, with some pride, Bokuden listened carefully, but as soon as the apprentice finished his story, he expelled him from his classes, he said that he did not want to see him again. Everyone was surprised. How did you not appreciate the skillful action of your student?
Bokuden’s three sons listened to the story very carefully. The eldest son was silent and seemed to be thinking. The one in the middle seemed bewildered. And the youngest son seemed confused and restless. “Why did you say goodbye to such a skilled man?The boy asked.
According to Eastern history, Bokuden replied: “A man who is not able to foresee dangers, but only to react to them, does not deserve to be my disciple. If you were a wise person, you would never have outdone the horse. “The three children remained silent, the middle and the child understood the message and, without the father asking them, left with their heads down.
