Don’t you dare judge me

Don’t expect others to understand your journey,

Especially if they never came to meet you?

  • ? I come here professor.
  • Because I feel so little that I have no strength to do anything.
  • They tell me that I do not serve.
  • That I do nothing good.
  • That I am slow and very stupid.
  • What can I do to make them appreciate me more?.

The professor, without looking at him, says

? I’m sorry, young man, but right now I can’t help you. I have to solve my own problem first. Maybe later?

And as he paused, he said:

? If you could help me, I could solve this problem faster and then maybe I can help you.

? Of course, Master, did the young man stutter, soon feeling devalued again, and hesitated to help his master.

The teacher pulled out a ring on his little finger and gave it to the boy saying:

? Take the horse and go to the market. You have to sell this ring because I have to pay a debt. You have to get as much as possible for the ring, but don’t accept less than a gold coin. Go back and go with the coin as soon as possible.

The young man took the ring and left, as soon as he reached the market he began to offer the ring to the merchants, they even looked at it with some interest, but when the young man said how much he intended to receive for the ring and mentioned the gold coin, some laughed, others left, without even looking at it. Only an old man was kind enough to explain that a gold coin was too precious to buy a ring.

Trying to help the young man, he was even offered a silver coin and a copper cup, but the young man followed instructions not to accept less than a gold coin and rejected the offers.

After offering the jewel to all who passed through the market, discouraged by failure, rode horses and returned, the young man wanted to have a gold coin so that he could buy the ring himself, thus freeing the master from his concern. who could then help you with your advice. Returning, discouraged, to his master, he said:

? Professor, I’m sorry, but it’s impossible to get what you asked for. Maybe I could get a couple of silver coins, but I don’t think anyone can fool the other with the value of this ring.

Is it important what you said young man? replied the professor with a smile

? So first we should try to figure out the value of the ring, take the horse back and go to the jeweler. Who better than him to know the exact value of the ring?Tell him you want to sell the ring and ask him how much he gives you. But no matter what I offer you, don’t sell it. Come back here with my ring.

The young man went to the jeweler’s house and gave him the ring to examine, the jeweler looked at him, sees him and said:

? Tell your teacher if he wants to sell now, I can’t give you more than 58 gold coins for the ring.

? 58 GOLD !!! ? exclaimed the young man

? Yes, the jeweler replied, I know that over time, maybe I could get up to 70 pieces, but if the sale is urgent?

The young man ran enthusiastically to tell what had happened, after hearing the story the professor said:

? You are like this ring, a precious and unique jewel, which can only be evaluated by an “expert”. Did you really think anyone could discover their true worth?

And when he said that, he put the ring back on his finger

Today I bring you this story so you don’t dare judge me, you know my name, but not my story. I know I say what I say, you’ll judge me the same way, even if I haven’t asked for your opinion, but what you don’t know is who my angels and my demons are.

Don’t you dare judge me unless you put on my skin and smile at life. All you know about me is what I told you and what you learned from what I told you. You didn’t even stop to look around. I try to live the way I want and not wear a mask. I am the only person who can follow this path; therefore, I take responsibility for valuing myself.

I have already condemned myself for years, when I was convinced that what others thought of me was my true price, but I have learned my lesson and I will not make this mistake again, I am immune to your judgments, I realized that the price had fixed what I would be willing to pay and decided to dress, without a mask, for the rest of my life.

The only way to free myself was to stop comparing myself; there is no gold worth my clothes, now I know that my image is a reflection of my safety and my self-esteem, and that I can only find them in myself, you can not imagine the pleasure of feeling outside looking for what is already inside.
