Here and now

What’s gone, what you’re waiting for is missing, but the gift is yours (Arabic proverb)

“A man approached an ex-sage and said:

“Did they tell me you’re wise?” Please tell me what a wise man who is not available to others can do.

The old man answered, when I know, how; I sleep when I sleep, and when I talk to you, I’m just talking about you.

But I can do that too, and that’s not why I’m smart, the man replied, surprised.

“I don’t think so, ” replied the old man. Because when you sleep, you remember the problems you had during the day or imagine what you might have when you get up, when you eat, you plan what you’re going to do next, and as you talk to me, you’re thinking about what you’re going to ask me or how you’re going to answer me, before I finish talking.

The secret is to be aware of what we are doing in the present moment and thus enjoy every minute of the miracle of life.

Anthony de Mello

We often need to calm our minds and stop the turmoil, or at least the ongoing internal dialogue to which we are accustomed, to achieve a state of serenity.

We all know this mental monologue characterized by the succession of uninterrupted thoughts, which acts worrying excessively about the past and the future, setting aside what is happening in the present moment. Thoughts and thoughts that revolve around you forming a limited mind, which most of the time does not help solve problems, but accentuates them.

One of the consequences of the predominance of this limited mind is that, by constantly evading the present, it prevents us from living the reality that comes to us at all times, making us unable to enjoy more specifically what we do, to enjoy all that life offers us. We.

What happened, happened and we can’t change and the future, even if it’s good to plan it without anxiety and with a bow we can’t control it either, in fact, now it’s the only one we have. We have to live here and now, that moment that’s happening right now, right now, as you read these lines, so we have to make the most of it. Let’s enjoy the good times and learn from those we don’t like so much. Let’s be happy.

Let us seek the magic of every day, the little treasure of every moment, and learn to live intensely.
