It is not a divine gift and not even “an enigmatic mystery,” as Winston Churchil said. Creativity is not a gift few people receive at birth and guarantees professional and social success. So how does this happen and what’s it for? And most importantly, how do you become a creative person?
Creativity is a faculty or quality that we all possess; we were born with it, it is an intrinsic quality that can be stimulated and formed, many studies show that there is no relationship between IQ and creativity, our species evolved to the point where we are because creativity allowed our ancestors to identify objects, communicate, evaluate new perspectives and be inventive and original.
- Creative people are characterized by a number of qualities that allow them to stand out in life.
- They are positive.
- Confident.
- Flexible.
- Curious.
- Tenacious people who know how to combine ideas and see the world from new angles.
- Themselves as people who can control their lives.
- Observe everything and see opportunities everywhere.
- They love challenges and always find innovative solutions.
Incredibly, recent studies show that our creativity has diminished. If a Renaissance man were to visit us today, we would probably be surprised by his ideas and creations. In the era of telecommunications, when the Internet keeps us informed of everything, we forget to think and have a critical vision of things.
Not everything has been invented and not everything is true. Everyone has an inventor in it; develop this skill. Search for information, search and find new ideas. Times of crisis are moments of opportunity; and creativity is the key that turns on the light and helps us to show everything that exists only in our imagination.
The first step is certainly our will. Then comes the process of overcoming the emotional, perceptual and cultural blockages that surround our reality. We need to see our reality as an option and not as an obligation; Perceive life through large sharp lenses, be critical and self-critical and not be afraid of mistakes or ridicule. Creativity is the key to opening doors to new opportunities and solving the problems that life imposes on us.
