Life Is A Journey
Sometimes we can find ourselves focusing on the end result of something. The end result of a day’s work, the end result of a project, the end result of a degree, the end result of a career, the end result of a life. But somewhere in the process of looking at our results, we may forget the process of looking at our fulfilment.
I think it’s important that we all take time to better understand ourselves. Take time to know what it is we love doing. And take time to figure out where it is we want to go.
We should try to never make a life choice because of how it sounds or for whatever prestige we think it brings us. Make that choice based on how it makes us feel.
Do we want to do this career because we love it or because it will allow us to retire a little earlier, after the years of our youth is over? Do we want to do this degree at university because we’re interested to learn it or because our family or friends are in that profession, and we want to fit in? Do we want to be with this person because there is a genuine connection or because we look really good together?
Life is a journey and we should do our best to live it as well as we can. We can only go as far as we’ve been internally, we just need to begin that journey of self discovery and see how far we can travel.
So try new things, be daring, explore both the external opportunities you see and your inner voice with a conscious mind and a compassionate heart. Create what you want to create and live the life you want to live. And when you’ve figured it out, help someone else do the same. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “we find ourselves when we lose ourselves in the service of others.”
