Mother, thank you for being here today and always

Mother, thank you for being present in every way possible. Through unconditional support, absolute trust, this look that, since I was a young, has given me security and encouragement to go through life, as I wanted and as I chose. Thank you for being like that summer breeze that always brings calm, that awakens happiness and invites inspiration.

A mother who brings these feelings to us is undoubtedly a gift. Good mother, yes, there is a great person, someone with an exceptional human trajectory who has taken care of himself, who knows his values and goals to always give his own children the best.

  • Washington Irvin said: “A mother will always strive to dispel those black clouds that sometimes loom over us.
  • So that peace can gradually return to our hearts.

That’s true, but if there’s one thing women manage to make a mark on their children, it’s teaching them to push back those momentary clouds on their own.

Because mothers not only play this classic role of providing affection, love and care, educating, correcting, limiting, inspiring by example, and not hesitant to pave the way for their children to advance alone in the world. at the right time to choose the destination they want.

It is in the first days of May that Mother’s Day is celebrated, for many it is little more than a marketing holiday in department stores, for others, a special moment to share with the family.

However, it is interesting to know that this day is celebrated since the dawn of time and, more precisely, from the Ancient Kingdom in Egypt.

There the goddess Isis, creator of life, goddess of magic and protector of children and women, was venerated every year; in ancient Greece there was also a feast linked to the figure of the mother.

In this case, the Greeks worshipped Rea, mother of Zeus, Hades, god of the underworld, Poseidon, Hestia, Hera, and Demeter, was a titan and it was common for Hellenic culture to associate her with the Moon.

Later, with the advent of Christianity, the festival began to focus on the figure of the Virgin Mary, however, it was in the nineteenth century that the festival took place in May, following two very specific characters: that of the American poet and activist. Julia Ward Howe and Ann Jarvis.

They organized demonstrations to reconcile both sides of the American Civil War, in this way they have achieved a rapprochement between women and all those mothers of families victims of the conflict.

Each year, Julia Ward and Ann Jarvis reunite them to make the event a vehicle for peace, hope and advocacy for women’s rights. In 1914, the two managed to establish Mother’s Day in May.

We already know that Mother’s Day is not a product created in an advertising and marketing agency, it has roots and, above all, an end: to value the figure of women, those who fight for their rights, those who defend peace, love for their children, those who are guided by firm values?

One way or another many of us know all these attributes, so we celebrate this day with them, to thank them.

Basically Mom, thank you for being there, for being who you are, then, so enthusiastic, so unique, a specialist in making your life easier, laughing at everything; an example to follow and someone to love today, tomorrow and always.
