Self-awareness represents wisdom and is not an end in itself, since we will never get to know each other completely, it is not because we put more or less effort into the task, but because we are constantly changing, but apart from utopia. , what is self-known?, we could say that it is a choice, that we can choose to learn and grow throughout life, in time and through our own experiences.
We are continually concerned about the image we convey to others, focusing on the shallowest aspects of life, that is how we lose sight of our deepest roots, we lose sight of who we really are.
- As we will see below.
- The process of self-knowledge requires values of honesty.
- Love and responsibility.
- Because self-knowledge involves freeing ourselves from prejudice.
- Guilt.
- Hatred and resentment.
- Only then can we deepen our essence.
This path to travel, that of self-know-how, is not something that can be done in a hurry, impatience or anxiety to get somewhere soon, as we have already said, in reality the arrival does not exist. As we learn to listen, ourselves and meet our needs, we know each other and mature with every experience we go through.
We are accustomed to mental distance, to be easily distracted by paying more attention to what others do or their behavior, we are experts in judging, criticizing, giving advice, blaming and seeing in others what we do not see in ourselves, all this serves to hide, not to want to look at us and all the aspects that we have in us.
Interaction with other people is always a double-edged sword and can go both ways depending on the attitudes we adopt in interactions. On the one hand, the relationship with others is fundamental to self-knowledge, because relationships are the means by which we can make more discoveries about ourselves. On the other hand, the consciousnessless relationship only takes us away from others and our capacity for self-awareness.
Knowing each other through the relationship with others involves listening to us in this interaction, observing what we say, what feelings and emotions are awakened by each attitude that we like or do not like and, above all, understanding that what appears is something of itself, has to do with what we are inside.
“To pay full attention to something, there must be integration into our whole being. In fact: while a level of consciousness may wish to discover, know, it is possible that on another level, this same knowledge means disappointment, because it can make a complete change in your life. ? -J. Krishnamurti-
No one has the power to generate a feeling or emotion without our consent, for this we must understand that we are always complicit and not victims of what we feel, the same goes for good and evil: when I feel love, it comes to me through interaction with another person. Isn’t that something that usually derives from certain interactions in you?And in any case, it’s something that has to do exclusively with your reaction.
Self-knowledge leads us hopelessly to authenticity, to show ourselves in a more honest and real way to others and, above all, to ourselves, without going through any personal error. Take away the need to satisfy or die of guilt for that. Happens.
We have discovered how self-knowing is indeed an unlimited sea, through which we travel throughout our lives, learning to understand and love ourselves, being able to share who we are, out of love for others and for authenticity, is the goal.
