Ten minutes of exercise a day will make you happier

Science is constantly evolving and moving. It’s like a kind of living organism that shows us a little more about the world, life and one’s body every day, so much so that now it confirms that only ten minutes of exercise a day will make you happier.

Everyone knows the benefits of sport and physical activity, however, what we have found to complete this idea is that with very little we can achieve much.

  • With little time of exercise.
  • Our body is able to release hormones associated with well-being.
  • In this way they produce a wonderful sensation capable of generating joy and happiness.

The study in question was developed by the University of Michigan in the United States. A group of scientists immersed themselves in exploring the relationship between positive emotions and physical exercise; especially focused on psychologically healthy people.

Until now we knew that physically active people developed a great ability to reduce the risk of anxiety and depression, now this new work has shown a positive and healthy impact of moderate exercise on a day-to-day life.

That is, you don’t have to spend hours in the gym or take a long walk every day at a fast pace. However, that does not mean that it is a negative thing; This means that with much less, you can get an excellent emotional result.

To demonstrate this result, the research team analyzed data from more than half a million people through 23 studies on happiness and exercise, conducted since 1980.

By analyzing the data and observing that the participants in the different studies belonged to different socioeconomic and ethnic groups, they were able to reach this conclusion. Comparisons between sedentary and physically active people who exercise only once a week or ten minutes a day show an improvement in their level of satisfaction with life.

Among the data obtained, we find that a person who exercises one hour and forty minutes a week is 20% more likely to be happy, this percentage increases with the increase in the frequency of physical activity, reaches 29% among those who practice two or three hours per week and 52% in those who exceed three hours per week of physical activity.

If we extrapolate these numbers per week, we will have an interesting fact: ten minutes of exercise a day will make you happier, however, for the effect to be constant, you must be constant.

The authors of the study, led by Professor Weiyun Chen, were surprised by the data obtained, with only ten minutes a day there is a great tendency to feel happier, so as stated in Chen’s statements in the study’s publication in The Journal of Happiness Studies, people who exercise, though moderately, have a high tendency to happiness.

To explain the relationship between happiness and physical activity, it is necessary to consider several factors, among the most important, the authors highlight the sense of well-being that produces a healthy body and the social interactions that occur during exercise.

Other experts say sport can lose weight, which helps improve people’s self-esteem and self-image, that is, it adds cognitive mechanisms to their benefits.

Health experts point to the importance of sport for several additional reasons, for example, it helps you focus on activity, thus eliminating mental noise and negative thoughts.

It also involves the release of hormones, mainly serotonin, dopamine and endorphins, these three neurotransmitters provide calm, feeling of pleasure and euphoria status, respectively, and have an immediate effect.

Have you imagined that ten minutes of exercise a day would make you happier easily? With a little consistency, feeling better is relatively simple. It’s all in our hands and in our bodies.

“Glory is to be happy. Glory is not winning here or there. The glory is to enjoy the practice, enjoy it every day, work hard, try to be a better player than before. “Rafael Nadal-
