The Tale of the Black Sheep is a story written by Italo Calvin, like many of his wonderful tales, this one is also full of imagination, it is a story that includes a deep and disconcerting message, which leaves no one indifferent.
The tale of the black sheep tells that in a remote corner of the Earth there was a village where all, absolutely all, were thieves, each of the inhabitants goes out at night. He was carrying a flashlight and a fake key that was used to break the locks, with these instruments looting the neighbor’s house.
- The next day.
- Everyone went home.
- And I found it empty.
- Of course.
- None of this was unusual for the inhabitants of this village.
- After all.
- Everyone knew that he was living with thieves and could not expect others not to steal them.
- Yet this remote village lived in peace.
- And harmony It was a chain.
- Everyone robbed everyone.
- So no one ran out of possessions.
Similarly, the trade was bought and sold through scams, those who bought and those who sold were wrong, at the same time the government only knew how to deceive the subjects, who in turn have always deceived the state. The locals were happy to live in this place.
“The secret of life is honesty and fair treatment. If you can pretend, have you understood?-Groucho Marx-
In the fable of the black sheep, there is a time when something breaks with established normality, in this case the one who begins to change the situation established in the village is an honest man, suddenly arrives in this village and, instead of going flying at night, stays at home, reading a book and smoking in a pipe.
The thieves approached his house, but when they saw the light on they decided not to approach him, some neighbors began to be hungry. If they couldn’t fly, the chain would break and someone would run out of merchandise, so they decided to talk to the honest man and ask him to reconsider his attitude, he was hurting everyone. If he didn’t want to fly, there was no problem, but he needed to let others fly.
The honest man understood the situation. And from that moment on, every night he would leave the house and head to the river. He left the house free for others to feel safe to enter and steal. However, I didn’t want to be a thief. Then, in less than a week, his house was completely empty.
According to the fable of the black sheep, the attitude of the honest man began to undo the full balance of this village, as he refused to steal, there was always a neighbor who kept the house intact the next day, then some people began stealing. accumulate more than necessary.
At the same time, anyone who robbed the honest man’s house found it empty, so I couldn’t eat again until the next night, when I was able to rob another house, so they started to exist rich and poor. accumulated, while others were still lost.
Those who had accumulated many goods quickly decided that they no longer wanted to be stolen, but they didn’t want to stop stealing because they could become poor, so they decided to pay those who had nothing not to steal them. Contracts were initiated, with salaries and bonuses to make everything very clear.
With the changes, a lot of people were confused. They did not know what to do, to remember their roles the chains and the police profession were created, so those who had accumulated many goods would not jeopardize their assets either.
Despite all this, the flight didn’t go away. They all kept flying, but now the rules of the game were different, some people didn’t work and paid others to steal, but the rich could not be robbed, otherwise the offender would be taken to prison.
No one understood why things had changed so much. But they had to adapt because they had to live on something. And what happened to the honest man? Simple: he starved to death, was the only person who refused to steal and also the one no one could understand, and so ends the fable of the black sheep. Any resemblance to reality is pure coincidence.
