What should we do as a society in the face of Down syndrome?The answer is clear: we still have a great way to go, we still have many obstacles, many prejudices and myths to be eliminated, as well as a lot of information to know.
First, by looking at the situation superficially, we can show that we make mistakes when, in relation to adults with Down syndrome, we treat them like children; we were wrong to show a fatherly attitude; we make labeling mistakes and we don’t. treat these people naturally.
Because a person with Down syndrome is a person with particular limitations and potentials, like the last of us. Therefore, throughout Down Spain people with Down syndrome claim that intellectual disability is considered “a natural condition of life for some people, who see themselves spontaneously, frankly and without complexity”.

However, while this is a common reaction, it shows that we don’t know that there is no reason to feel sorry or pity. Everyone lives with their illness and people with Down syndrome struggle every day to live with their own, which is private.
This is important because people with Down syndrome are not all the same, just like others, regardless of their condition, they are not. Taking that into account allows us to emphasize that we must strive to know all people in their diversity, not because of those traits that lead us to classify someone into a group.
