The loneliness of today’s children

The last few decades have witnessed a growing trend almost everywhere in the world: the early growth of children. It is common to see parents sitting by the baby’s crib and talking about the importance of crying at certain times and not at others. “I need to learn from a young age,” they say.

From the beginning, they have tried to educate these children for something that seems like a kind of unwavering autonomy. They want their children to bother them as little as possible: to learn to get up and lie alone; perform their schoolwork without anyone supervising them; Wait, reassure your parents at home until they get home from work, that is, behave like little adults.

  • Thinking.
  • And feeling; there’s nothing dumber than trying to replace them with ours.
  • Jean-Jacques Rousseau?.

This attitude keeps causing a certain sense of guilt in parents, the downside is that they seek to dilute this guilt with expensive gifts or extreme care in certain aspects of life, they may call them every two hours to see how they are doing. Or take the holidays to accompany them to the other side of the world to make up for absences.

The loneliness of children is a real epidemic, caused by the climate of those times when it seems that there are no longer moments of hugs, kisses and quiet conversation, but there is only time for work: exhausted people and tired faces. late and they are always tired and upset.

UNICEF conducted a survey of what quality of life means for children and then was able to show that their views are very different from those of adults. And not knowing how to perceive your inner world increases your loneliness.

They are also more irritable, intolerant, and demanding. They cannot organize their emotions in a coherent way, many find it difficult to be spontaneous and are extremely vulnerable to the opinions of others.

The loneliness imposed is never good, because it immerses the sick in a kind of emotional mud, especially if he is a child, he feels helpless, without floor. He is afraid and therefore can develop a defensive and fluoric personality, which in his adult life will make it very difficult for him to establish healthy relationships with others.

While many parents have already realized that their children are very lonely, they feel they face a terrible crossroads: either they work to financially maintain the home or suffer deprivation with their children, yet something or much can be done. Here are some possible attitudes:

Regardless of the conditions, it’s important to think about how to spend more time with children. They deserve it. They are at a stage in life where all experiences mark, it can mean a sacrifice to you, but it will certainly be worth it.

Remember that for them there are things that are very important!
