The realities we have to accept

Given what we don’t like, we have different ways of positioning ourselves, we can complain about our bad luck, start working to change it, accept it and work so that it is not that point that our gaze is systematically directed at. We can include it in our speech, we can exclude it. We have the opportunity to accept it in our thinking or to reject all those who refer to what we do not like, however, one way or another, there are realities that we have to accept.

That is, there are facts or phenomena that exist and will continue to exist, so that they do not condition or contaminate our well-being we will have no choice but to learn to live with them, as we do, for example, in many ways that others have and that we do not like very much.

  • The error.
  • We can opt for the somewhat romantic position of considering failure as a good thing.
  • Without it we would not be able to learn.
  • Improve.
  • Feel this fabulous feeling of moving forward.
  • Yesterday we did something wrong or wrong.
  • Today we do better.

However, how many forgetfulnesss didn’t anger us, how many glasses were broken by our awkwardness? No matter how angry we are, no matter how much attention we pay, we’ll continue to make these stupid mistakes that don’t teach us much, so that’s one of those realities we have to accept.

Facts are rarely presented in a way that follows exactly the path that we have mapped out in our minds. You would have to load a truck instead of a suitcase to have a ready answer to all the unexpected. In the list, whenever we try to list them, there would be a place for the “others”.

This is not plausible. Adopting a very cautious or measured position to avoid unforeseen in many cases is a very large obstacle, you would have to maintain a very slow speed, when you are dynamic and changing, in this sense permanence is the exception, not the rule.

On the other hand, we cannot get rid of expectations, just as we cannot get rid of the associated first impressions and biases, such as the halo effect. Naturally, what we hope is to condition different elements of psychological play, some as important as the self. -efficiency or control of our care.

A statue is not ugly. A person is neither honest nor lying, he can behave like this many times, which does not mean that he is always selective in his behavior according to the social environment, in fact we are all like this, and that is not what we are interested in or wrong more than a three-dollar bill.

In one image, two points are more or less distant depending on the zoom/scale we apply, you might think that Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo are very close or far away.

The advantage we have when we talk about it is that you and I can take the same reference unit and give absolute value, without judging, however, moving this measurement methodology to the psychological world poses its problems: imagine that Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo move all the time and that we have no means of transport between the two places.

What could we use as a reference point? Chances are we’ll see it on the screen at that time. For what? Because it is very comfortable to work only from our point of view and take into account only the information that comes to us through the senses at any given time, that is, we usually work with photos, when what we want is to work with videos and, inside, with a camera capable of running 360 degrees, however, this is not possible and it is another reality that we have to accept.

I have the word on the tip of my tongue. The word I want to access is like an island, I know where it is, but I can’t find a way between the different references I have to lie about its beaches: its meaning, the last time I used it, the letter that begins Or ends?Yes, I remember those details, but I can’t say it now.

That face went to school with me. He’s waiting in line, but what’s your name?He sat next to Joo and the math teacher caught his eye every day. Yes, another reality that we have no choice but to accept is the somewhat anarchic functioning of our memory.

We list some of these realities that we must accept and that, when they arise, can generate significant frustration, which ones would you include in this list, and why?
