Social roles are defined as the roles we play in society, i. e. they detail and represent the activities or behaviors expected in a given social environment Who defines what tasks suit us ?, is the role already assigned or are we building it ourselves?have resolved these doubts in this article.
Functions are performed in any group. We can see the role within a team, for example, the defender or the striker; sock, side or pivot. Another role within a family, the role of mother, father, brother; or at work, the role of principal, secretary, fellow or assistant. The same person, depending on the context in which they are in, can play various roles, that of a fellow at work, that of a child in the family or that of an actor within a group of friends, for example.
- The role is built and adapted for all; it can be defined initially so that the other collaborators of the group expect from my behavior.
- But it will be in general terms.
- Since each of them will subsequently have to adapt these expectations and demands to their personal characteristics.
Problems associated with roles can come from different sources
Our role in society or in the group is dynamic and evolutionary, in many cases in this transformation we, as key players, have the greatest responsibility in their direction, in this sense problems often arise when we behave like a drifting ship, when we try to take a role that crosses the limits of our flexibility, or when we want to introduce very fast and radical changes in our functions.
Ultimately, everyone’s role must be unique and immutable; there may be “messages” to which we adapt when we enter a new group, but from general lines and behaviors, it is the role that must be adapted to us, not the other way around, as in many cases.
The role of construction takes time and above all intelligence, after all, paper is an opportunity to show the world what we can contribute.
