There’s only one way to kill monsters: settle for them

Are there negative emotions that live in us as monsters that haunt us, and that end at the most boring moment, such as guilt, fear, pride, selfishness, envy, jealousy?

Sometimes it is difficult to overcome a feeling of guilt for something we have done, or it is inevitable to be afraid of a situation that concerns us.

  • Although it is not possible to eliminate negative emotions.
  • It is possible to accept and manage them to live with them and not direct our lives.

“Emotions are like wild horses, aren’t they explanations that help us move on, but our willingness to move on?-Paulo Coelho-

We can all learn to identify and manage our emotions, we can identify the emotions of others through emotional intelligence, with which we can feel what the other person feels through their words, gestures or expressions.

Charles Darwin analyzed that animals have a vast repertoire of emotions and that these emotions have a social function, as they promote adaptation to our environment.

There are six basic emotions and each has its own function

It is the emotion that one feels in the face of a danger, real or imaginary, fear encourages us to protect and safeguard ourselves.

I am astonished by an unexpected fact, whether positive or negative, surprise allows us to orient ourselves to the new situation.

The disgust that produces something and that makes us reject something.

Feeling irritable in a situation that bothers us. Anger is a negative and destructive feeling.

Euphoria for something that makes us happy and gives us a sense of security and well-being, invites us to want to repeat this situation so that we can feel it again.

It’s the feeling that negative events provoke us. Sadness makes us overcome a situation and bring out our emotions.

There are several techniques for controlling and managing negative emotions, which are grouped into several categories:

They are used to control our emotions as they arise

This is usually care management. What we try to avoid is that when a negative emotion develops in us, we express it and get carried away.

It is a set of techniques that seek to understand what makes us react in a certain way and discover how to react differently.

This can be a lack of self-esteem, a poor perception of the situation, fear, etc.

“We are not responsible for emotions, but for what we do with them

-Jorge Bucay-

Permanent emotional change techniques offer in-depth work with oneself, allowing growth to stop reacting as you don’t want.

We can’t help but feel emotions, but we can learn how to handle them and accept them so they don’t hurt us.

Here are some tips for managing your emotional intelligence and controlling internal monsters:

We all have many flaws, but also many virtues that set us apart and make us unique people.

It’s common to say negative things about ourselves all the time: this always happens to me!Etc.

But we never stop to think about all the virtues we have, in all the things we do well, in our daily successes.

When a baby cries, the first thing we do is try to distract him to stop him crying.

Don’t let your mind wander. If your partner told you you’re not sure about the relationship, don’t think they’ll leave you, think about the book you’re reading.

Sometimes negative emotions make us think about the long-term consequences, but it’s better to think about the immediate future, to be more realistic and maintain self-control.

Meditation has been shown to be effective in avoiding negative thoughts, not only when they occur, but also in the long term.

Meditating and breathing properly can help reduce anxiety and other negative emotions.

If you think about the worst that can happen to you, you’ll learn to put your problems into perspective and manage control of your emotions.
