I admit I’m afraid. The truth is that I’ve always had it: it’s not that I consider me a coward who’s afraid of anything that can happen, is that there are things that I don’t know why I’m afraid, and others that I’ve learned. Today, however, I set myself a challenge: I am in a battle against fear and I promise to win it.
Fear often recedes and sinks. To be afraid is as if something blocked us to the point that we do not own ourselves, is to be alienated: sometimes I do not even know myself, when I feel fear, the world stops and time becomes eternal requiring a reaction to advance.
- Living fear is both natural and inevitable.
- So we cannot be ashamed of it: we all feel fear at any time.
- At any time in our lives No one can say that he was never afraid because it will not be true: maybe our fears were different or you do not want to see them.
- But they are just as valid and real.
“Humanity’s oldest and most intense emotion is fear, and the oldest and most intense fear is fear of the unknown.
-H. P. Lovecraft-
Also, if you think as coldly as possible, it is normal that on several occasions you have felt fear differently: sometimes this has happened and has become a trauma to overcome; other times, something was going on; and most of the time, everything that can happen hasn’t happened and I guess.
Fear is like this: unwelcome and opportune at the same time, it happens when you least want it, so that I can make this moment a victory in my life, that is, fear appears and grows when I feel weaker, but when I win. the game, my victory and what I get from it also weakens it.
Although I don’t like to feel it and have to accept it as natural, fear can also be healthy. Yes, believe it or not.
Fear can be a defense mechanism in cases where there is a real danger and must be addressed quickly: fear allows survival, knowledge of one’s limitations and their expansion.
Fear, which is more fear than anything else, basically helps to look more closely, to go slowly and to avoid future damage, what is happening is that there is also this other emotion that is not healthy because it is close to panic and paralysis. : then you have to take charge of the situation, ask yourself the worst that can happen to me and be brave.
“We must not be afraid of poverty or loneliness, nor of prison or death. What we must fear is fear itself.
-Epicteto-
For me to drive fear and not the other way around, I need to know what brought me here and why I’m afraid, only then can I win it: recognize it, analyze it in detail and realize that yes, I can win. the battle against fear.
When I’m afraid, I’m not who I really am and I don’t behave the way I’d like, fear won’t let me sleep, it won’t let me be happy, I can’t change if I don’t get rid of fear, no matter how hard I try, I can’t really live.
If you feel recognized in these words, I’m sure you’ve experienced fear in situations where people depended on you: socially, others can take advantage of this fear and manipulate it, play with their needs and with their lives.
If this is the case, look also at the face of fear and think you can deal with it: you can get rid of everything that doesn’t let you move, they can take everything off, you can end up with nothing, but fear can only take something away from you when you accept it. Start your battle with fear today!
“Emotions such as love, friendship, kindness or solidarity do not produce fear, because they are sincere, intangible and belong to the heart. And they are able to change this planet, fill our souls and make us feel the beauty of the world around us. We.
-Pedro González Nuez-
