Unnecessary emotions: guilt and concern

Our lives are surrounded by guilt and worry, two unnecessary emotions that do us no good, but that we value more than we should.

We may feel guilty about what we have done, of facts that have not satisfied us, at the same time we are concerned about what we could do, but we are not doing it, either out of fear or lack of action.

“Is guilt not in feeling, but in consent?-St. Bernard of Claraval-

But do you really know what you’re losing by giving importance to these two emotions?

We know this is something we can’t help, but if we realize what we’ve lost by making it a priority, maybe we can see them for what they really are: unnecessary emotions. .

Guilt and worry are two emotions whose consequences immobilize people by wasting time giving them the attention they don’t deserve.

The first, guilt, makes you lose your present moments by thinking about what you feel guilty about, losing time with something that is done and that has no solution.

On the other hand, the second, anxiety, makes you stand still, thinking about a future that has not yet arrived, but that worries you.

Feeling bad or worrying won’t change what happened or what’s to come

But why do we give so much importance to these two useless emotions? Now that we know they’re not doing us any good, why do we still give them so much importance?

We all live around these two emotions. It’s easy to see depressed, pessimistic people who continually blame the the blame the blame and care about what they’ve done or haven’t done yet.

You’re probably no exception in this group, so it’s necessary to identify these two emotions, to eliminate them to avoid the consequences they may have, such as anxiety.

Anxiety is one of the ways in which guilt and anxiety manifest, so you’ll feel despondent and uncomfortable every time you become obsessed with something that’s happened or might happen.

Once we have identified these emotions in ourselves, we are aware of what they make us feel and serve us more to generate anxiety, it is time to find a solution.

We must see guilt not as something that torments us, but as an opportunity to learn from a mistake we have made, this will help us not to fall back into it, to progress and move forward in our life.

Think about it: no one is immune to guilt. We all make mistakes at some point, but don’t think it’s a negative thing! No way.

Making mistakes makes us better people, as long as we see them as a personal development opportunity, as an opportunity for growth.

As for anxiety, being obsessed with what might happen in the future doesn’t really get us anywhere. When the time comes, we must act and what it should be.

Thinking about what can happen in advance is useless, because maybe when the time comes, everything will happen in a way you didn’t expect, this can be positive or negative. Certainly, a moment comes to mind when nothing went as planned or thought.

The past cannot be changed, the future is something that remains to come.

Thus, we are prepared to face our past and our future in a different way, not that you cannot feel these emotions, but that you learn from them, rather than suffer for them.

We are emotional beings who must learn to handle everything we feel in our favor, even the most negative can be an opportunity to learn and be better people.

Don’t isolate yourself or grieve by blaming yourself and worrying about things you can’t change, what’s already happened can’t be changed and what can happen is something we’ll never know what’s going to happen, until it really happens.
