One of our biggest problems is that we are used to not appreciating what we have and appreciating what we lack. Not worrying about what we will miss if you get lost is a common and unrealistic way to think about some people and situations. Although our goals are born of what we lack, it is a mistake to create needs for things we don’t really need.
Sometimes we make the mistake of calling almost everything we don’t have, and obligation, what we really need to appreciate, like people, feelings or situations, in this way we miss many opportunities because we prefer to fantasize than experience reality, perhaps because the former is often much easier than the second.
- We generally benefit very little from what we have.
- And it is often a model that some people practice for much of their time.
- Some experts on this topic even talk about so-called missing party syndrome to refer to the constant fixation of what we have.
- I don’t have.
- Even to the limit of an obsession.
Don’t expect to have it all to enjoy life; you already have the life to enjoy everything.
Achieving one goal and thinking about the next is reasonable and logical, however, the problem arises when, at the same time, we benefit very little from what we have and here is the secret: the present moment, whether we like it or not, is the only one, and it is the secret to living life to the fullest.
Non-compliance is an intrinsic tendency of the human being, but it must not distress our lives, on the other hand, motivation is fundamental and, to some extent, instinctive, this does not have to be negative, but if we combine non-chronic -Fulfilling the idealization of what we do not have, we can fall into a well of dissatisfaction.
Idealization often misleads us. We miss or want something because we think we will feel much better if we can do it; In reality, we cannot know for sure what a situation will be like until we experience it. Idealizing is blindly evaluating what does not normally correspond to reality. Being aware of all this is the first step to enjoy our day to day.
We have to be aware of what we have, what we are and enjoy what life offers us, we have to be careful with what we look for and desire, there are no perfect situations, only those we imagine in our mind, implies idealization of what we do not have, what others have and everything we need.
Sometimes we do not live our reality for something that does not exist, idealization is the first step towards disappointment.
We don’t benefit much from what we have because we don’t pay much attention to it, knowing what to consider is the first step in the assessment, paying attention to good things opens a window to well-being, because who knows how to enjoy the good. little or much of what surrounds them, they have already learned the true essence of life.
Valuing and valuing what we have is essential to meet both our needs and those of the people around us.
Then we will cite an old story that teaches us why, on several occasions, we live focused on superficial pleasures that we cannot realize, while losing all the positives of our existence.
“In an English castle there was the rule that visitors did not have to pay the entrance to visit it, which attracted most tourists who came to this place. Once inside the castle, there was only one condition for not making the visit. visit: you had to do it with a spoon full of sand in your mouth; If granite did not fall during the trip the visit would be free, all the enthusiastic visitors accepted the challenge and toured the castle enthusiastically so that they could reach the end without losing a gram of the contents of the spoon.
As a result, most visitors did not pay the entrance fee, but paid a much higher price: they didn’t appreciate anything inside the castle. None of the visitors who arrived with the spoon full of sand saw the inside of the fortress, its precious paintings, its architecture, since they only looked at the spoon ?.
So don’t be like those visitors. Take a blind eye to what you think you’re missing and start enjoying what you already have today.
