What satisfies the soul is the truth

Lying or not telling the truth so as not to hurt someone or hide a reality is something that happens to us all throughout life, we are afraid of hurting someone, we are ashamed of what others might think, and we refuse to show our feelings.

But when we don’t tell the truth or tell the whole truth, something in us twists, reminds us that we’re not honest with ourselves, we feel something is failing. Sometimes we hide our real age or level in language, or in more important aspects like our feelings.

“Truth is lived and not taught

-Hermann Hesse-

We are often afraid to tell the truth out of fear of what they may think, but this motive can immerse us in a reality that is not ours, it can turn us into a person that we are not really.

Honesty is one of the fundamental characteristics of the relationship with others and it is essential to take care of and respect it, making it accompany us in all our actions and words.

We must not forget that fear is an emotion that prevents a potentially dangerous situation, but that like all emotion it can be managed and controlled. Neuroscientists have questioned whether fear is simply a mechanism of defense against psychosocial alarms, which leads us to forget and hide what we know to be true.

Telling the truth is really an act of bravery on certain occasions is talking with your heart and saying what you really think, not hiding under false appearances. To be courageous means to look the other person in the eye and to tell them that you love them is to make our soul and our hearts beat at the same time in the face of the words that arise from the depths of our being.

“Truth is corrupted with both lies and silence

-Marco Tulio Ciceron-

When we tell the truth we undress before others, we show ourselves who we are and that can be scary, but it is not possible to hide for long under miscarriages, under invented appearances.

We all make mistakes throughout our lives trying to protect someone, for example, and hide the truth, but somehow the truth always appears and our mistake manifests itself, in these cases it asks for forgiveness, be honest and you will feel comforted and appreciated.

Wrong is human if there is no intention to do so, and all we have to do is learn the lesson and prevent it from reproducing, it’s about thinking about what happened and being honest with ourselves and others.

A study by researchers at the University of Notre Dame in the United States found that the average number of lies Americans verbalize per week is 11 for 10 weeks, analyzed the responses of 110 people in certain situations.

Half of people have been trained to tell fewer lies, and this group, according to psychology professor Anita E. Kelly has shown improvements in health, including less tension and fewer headaches and sore throats.

In general, people lie for three reasons: to adapt to a hostile environment, to avoid punishment, and to get a prize or win something. For example, there are people who lie about a certain professional ability to find work, lie to get a prize, sometimes lie when they feel attacked, to be accepted.

“Truth exists, only lies are made up

We must not forget that lying has a direct relationship with self-esteem, we lie when our ego is threatened or when we want to take advantage of a situation, in this context lying is a defense mechanism, a survival weapon. In any case, it is necessary to differentiate those who feel guilt and remorse from those who feel nothing and end up believing in their own deception.

Let us not forget that what we hide, what we do not say, will always appear one way or another, the truth always finds a way to become real, to manifest itself, for it is the truth that satisfies the soul, exalts it and does it is free.

“The person who is not at peace with himself will be a person at war with the whole world.
