Suffering is not a personal choice; no one voluntarily chooses pain or emotional isolation. Unfortunately, there is no anesthesia to prevent suffering; Dark times must be confronted with integrity, courage and renewed illusions.
life is not always easy. This phrase is very often said to us, and who until now has been fortunate not to be “touched” by adversity, does not yet understand the realism of these words.
- To live is to face provocations.
- To build one.
- Two.
- Six or more projects.
- To let happiness embrace our lives and accept that.
- From time to time.
- Suffering knocks on our door to test us.
And no, we don’t accept all the blows that life brings us in the same way. There are those who face disappointments better and who, on the contrary, internalize them, allowing them to undermine their self-esteem.
No sadness feels the same way, just as no depression has the same origin, nor does everyone feel it equally.
But there is a very common symptom that, in one form or another, we will all have to experience at some time: anhedonia.
Anhedonia is the inability to feel pleasure and enjoy the good. Our brain, so to speak, “decides to disconnect. ” Don’t sit down so you don’t suffer, isolate yourself, stay anesthetized.
You may have experienced this for a few days, when you’re consumed by apathy and discouragement, but what happens when it becomes chronic?
Today we want to address this issue in order to provide you with information that will deepen your knowledge of this important aspect.
As we indicated at the beginning, there is no adequate anesthesia for the pain of life, when anhedonia appears in our brain, as a defense mechanism, it is of no use to us, on the contrary.
Let’s start by clarifying some aspects
This low receptivity to external stimuli is clearly reflected in a depressed brain.
It is important to consider the type of process that is triggered in us when we experience anhedonia:
Depression is not “cured” and is not tackled overnight. This requires multiple approaches, depending, as always, on the reality of each one.
Medications, therapies, family support and, most importantly, the own resources that everyone can use are critical.
In addition, we would like to invite you to reflect on the following aspects:
Not feeling not to suffer is not an appropriate mechanism to live in. This will allow you to “survive” but being empty inside. Don’t let yourself be an eternal prisoner of suffering.
If there’s one positive thing we can get out of anhedonia is that you’ve set aside the ability to feel, now that you’re anesthetized by pain, it’s time to ask what you have BESOIN.
Think about these aspects for a few moments and always remember that living is feeling in all its intensity, either on the bright side or on the negative side.
