This phrase by Emperor Julius Caesar simply illustrates our need to learn to live the present moment.
How many times, in the face of a conflict, do we tend to get things forward without considering that there are other possibilities?Worse, we stayed the story in our heads as if it were so true, that we believe in the most negative option swearing together that it is true!So we’re under all the emotional burden that this entails, even if nothing happened.
- For all these reasons.
- Should we be aware of the times when we find ourselves?.
- Place the cart in front of the oxen ?.
- And ask ourselves if a certain situation is really going to happen or if there are other options.
- We will not be paralyzed by a single possibility.
- Usually with very low chances of it happening as we think.
In addition, in the face of any event in our life, we will have two alternatives: 50% positive and 50% negative. So what is our need to choose the option that causes us the most psychological harm?
From my own experience I have learned to hold on to this phrase to slow down the tendency to move forward and wait for the oxen to ride the cart I hope this will be of use to you too!
